Adolphus Busch Wreck

The Adolphus Busch is a 210 feet long ocean going freighter which was intentionally sunk in 1998 to create a fish haven and artificial reef for divers.

The wreck is intact and upright in 120 feet of water, with the deck and wheelhouse at a depth of 80 - 100 ft. We visit the wreck one day a week (usually Wednesday) for one dive followed by two shallow dives at Looe Key National Marine Sanctuary.

A 250 pound grouper is often seen in either the cargo holds or the wheelhouse. Other residents include moray eel, cleaner shrimp, angel fish, rays, and marine invertebrates as well as a seasonal group of four foot snook and tarpon.

nitroxWe have nitrox for sale and dive computers for rent so that you can safely extend your bottom time. Also, we recommend wearing gloves when handling the descent/ascent line to the wreck.
