December 2007

New equipment partner mares logo

After much searching, Looe Key Dive Center has selected MARES as our primary scuba equipment supplier. We’re replacing all of our current rental regulators and BCD’s with new MARES gear. Plus, we're adding an expanded retail line of high quality regulators, BCD’s, computers, masks, fins, snorkels, and wetsuits. Our new retail line's got it all - fit, function and fun. There’s something for everyone’s diving needs.

And if that isn’t enough, we’re also creating several levels of rental gear from basic to high end so you can try before you buy, or just dive more comfortably while you’re here. Stop in to handle the stuff yourself, or visit MARES on the web at www.divemares.com.

Used Gear Blowout!
With the arrival of all our new scuba equipment, there's no room for our current equipment. That presents an excellent pre-Christmas opportunity for you. We'll be having a sale in early December. ALL of our used rental gear - Sherwood Regulators and BCD’s - will be on sale. ALL of our remaining NEW Sherwood regulators, BCD’s, and computers will be on sale. Check the home page for date and times.

More New Stuff!
reactor logo We’ve added a new line of high quality Reactor watches. Check them out at www.reactorwatch.com. These are truly remarkable watches – sturdy, solid, stylish. They’re equally at home under water, on the field, or downtown. They’re tag line is true - “The best built performance sport watch … period.

New Environmental Partner!  reef logo

We’ve also partnered with REEF, Reef Environmental Education Foundation, as a Field Station. Using divers and snorkelers just like you, REEF conducts fish surveys and fish counts all over the world in order to help monitor ocean health. As a REEF Field Station, we’ll have survey forms and other materials on hand, and within the next few months, offer survey training, testing, and host surveys in our local area. Join REEF (it's free) or learn more at www.reef.org.

PADI’s Specialty of the Month Program - Project AWARE

Learn about the plight of worldwide aquatic ecosystems. For divers and non-divers alike, Project AWARE describes what individuals can do to help protect aquatic resources. It's a non-diving course that contains only classroom presentations, so it’s open to anyone – divers, snorkelers, or anyone who cares about our aquatic world. What better place to learn about the aquatic world than in the Keys? To learn more, go to padi.com

And Finally….scuba santa
