Requires minimum of Open Water certification from any
training agency. Minimum age is 10 years old unless stated
otherwise in a specific course. Other requirements may
apply as noted in the individual course descriptions.
All courses require home study.
AWARE - FISH IDENTIFICATION – This course will introduce you to the most common families
and species of fish found on our tropical reef. You will
learn basic fish identification, scientific surveying
techniques and the importance of personal involvement
in aquatic environment conservation. A one day (with home
study using Adventures in Diving book) or two day (without
home study) course. Includes classroom session and materials,
and 2 open water dives. 7:30 AM check-in. Course fee:
$150 + tax
BOAT DIVER - A
safe, supervised introduction to boat diving, this one
day course is designed to familiarize divers with the
skills, courtesies, and terminology to make boat diving
safer and more enjoyable. You will learn how to plan and
organize your next boat trip to enable you to travel to
exotic dive sites. Requires home study using Adventures
in Diving book. Includes classroom session and materials,
and 2 open water dives. 8:00 AM check-in. Course fee:
$125 + tax
DEEP DIVER - As
a deep diver you will gain access to new and exciting
dive sites. Visit wrecks, observe and photograph aquatic
life not found at shallower depths. This course is designed
to be an introduction to deep diving and to help the student
diver develop the necessary skills, knowledge, and techniques
to safely participate in deep diving activities (depths
of 60-130 feet / 20-40 meters). Minimum age is 15. Takes
4 days and includes book and 4 open-water dives. 8:00
AM check-in. Course fee: $275 + tax
DIVER PROPULSION VEHICLE DIVER - This
course is designed to introduce divers to the skills and
excitement of using diver propulsion vehicles. The course
familiarizes student divers with the knowledge, planning,
organization, procedures, techniques, potential problems
and hazards associated with using DPV’s. Minimum 12 years
old. Requires home study using Adventures in Diving book.
Includes classroom session and materials, 2 open water
dives, and DPV use. 8:00 AM check-in. Course fee: $175
+ tax
ENRICHED AIR DIVER - This
course is designed to qualify recreational divers to use
enriched air (“NITROX”) for no stop recreational diving.
The program addresses the use of enriched air with 22
percent to 40 percent oxygen, with emphasis on enriched
air with 32 and 36 percent oxygen. Includes book, required
tables, classroom instruction, and 2 open-water dives
with NITROX fills. (Certification does not require dives.
See Non-Diving Specialties for this option.) Requires
home study. 7:30 AM check-in. Course fee: $225 + tax
MULTILEVEL/COMPUTER DIVER - Learn
how to plan for and accomplish dives at 2 different levels
using the Recreational Dive Planner and the Wheel. Learn
how to minimize surface interval and maximize bottom time
by calculating your actual dive profile. Requires home
study using Adventures in Diving book. Includes classroom
session and materials, 2 open water dives, and use of
dive computer. Minimum 12 years old. 7:30 AM check-in.
Course fee: $175 + tax
PEAK PERFORMANCE BUOYANCY - Proper
buoyancy control will extend your bottom time, reduce
your diving effort, protect your favorite dive site, and
enhance your overall diving enjoyment. This will help
you dive with less weight, attain better air consumption,
and achieve ultimate buoyancy control. Requires home study
using Adventures in Diving book. Includes classroom session
and materials, and 2 open water dives. 8:00 AM check-in.
Course fee: $150 + tax
SEARCH & RECOVERY - Once
you have had search & recovery training, few objects are
truly lost underwater. Learn the skills and techniques
required to find and recover lost objects underwater.
Whether for fun or to enhance your diving skills, sooner
or later you will need to know the material presented
in this course. Takes 2 days. Includes book, classroom
instruction, use of lift bags, and 4 open water dives.

UNDERWATER NATURALIST - Those
who scuba dive are in a unique position to observe
and
interact with underwater organisms very different from
those on land. This course provides you with basic information
about aquatic life and their relationship with their surrounding
organisms and how to interact responsibly. A one-day course
with home study using Adventures in Diving book or a two
day course without home study. Includes a classroom session
and 2 open-water dives. 8:00 AM check-in. Course fee:
$150 + tax Add $25 for 2 day course.
UNDERWATER NAVIGATOR - Never get lost underwater! Develop your practical knowledge
of both natural and compass underwater navigation techniques.
The skills presented will reduce your anxiety, conserve
air, help avoid separation from your buddy, and save energy.
Learn to make underwater maps, navigate patterns, relocate
a dive site, and find your way back to the boat. Takes
2 days. Includes book, classroom instruction, and 4 open
water dives. 8:00 AM check-in. Course fee: $250 + tax
UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAPHY (FILM) - This course covers basic underwater photography with special
emphasis on practical photographic techniques including
the planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems
and hazards of underwater-photography diving, photographic
principles, composition, film types, flash/available light
photography and camera-handling techniques, and the preparation,
care and maintenance of photographic equipment. Includes
book, classroom instruction, use of camera and 2 open
water dives. Student must provide film and batteries.

UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAPHY (DIGITAL) - The
PADI Digital Underwater Photographer course is a two-part
(Level One and Level Two) introduction to digital underwater
photography centered around today’s point-and-shoot digital
cameras. The course helps student divers develop the knowledge,
skills and practical techniques necessary to obtain excellent
photographs with a digital camera, even on their first
photo dive. It is a materials-driven course intended for
a broad audience – snorkelers, Discover Scuba Diving participants
(after the 1st dive), Open Water Diver students (on 4th
dive), and certified divers. The course is primarily for
those interested in learning the basics of digital underwater
photography.
Level One of
the course guides students in achieving good results
easily, even if they’ve never used a digital camera
before. It is designed as an introduction to course
skills and knowledge. In Level One, students learn what
equipment they need to take great underwater photographs,
how to prepare their underwater photo system, and basic
underwater photo techniques while diving in an environmentally
friendly manner. Level One training is open to snorkelers,
Open Water Diver students and certified divers. Students
who successfully complete Level One may receive a PADI
certification card. You may conduct Level One skill
development in a pool/confined water or in open water.
(After students successfully complete Level One, they
may move on to Level Two to learn how to make their
photographs even better.) Conducted in one day with
one pool session and one open water dive are required.
Includes book, white balance slate, classroom session,
and 2 open water dives. Student must provide digital
camera with underwater housing, batteries, memory, and
maintenance items. 8:00 AM check-in. Course fee: $225
+ tax
Level Two expands
what underwater photographers need to know about file
formats, resolution settings, making their images lighter
or darker, getting good color, composing their photo,
downloading photographs into their computer and adjusting
them to look their best. Level Two training is open
to snorkelers and certified divers. You conduct Level
Two skill development in open water. Participants who
successfully complete Level Two skill development qualify
for the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty
certification. Conducted in one day with one open water
dive and photo workshop required. Includes book and
white balance slate (unless given in Level One), classroom
session, and flow workshop session. Student must provide
all equipment required in Level One and laptop and software
for downloading, manipulating, and storing photos. 8:00
AM check-in. Course fee: $225 + tax Course fee: $180
+ tax if bringing own course materials from Level One.
WRECK DIVER - You
will develop practical knowledge of the underwater wreck
environment,
and raise your awareness of the historical
importance of wrecks and the social issues surrounding
them. You’ll be trained in the planning, organization,
procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of wreck
diving, the preparation and use of lights, air supplies,
special equipment, penetration lines and reels, and limited-visibility
diving techniques and emergency procedures. Minimum age
is 15. Takes 4 days. Includes book, classroom instruction,
2 pool training sessions, and 4 open-water dives. 8:00
AM check-in. Course fee: $300 + tax
